7.6.20: Vibe Where You're At

^my new companion is Sister Kent. She is full of hilarious one-liners. I literally fall asleep laughing. She's from Lehi, Utah and she was also serving in Brasil in Teresina. We get along really well and still live with my old comp Sis Lawlor and her new comp, Sis Sorge. Living with 4 sisters is really fun and especially nice during quarantine. Last Tuesday both our companions got here so we got to drive to Massachusetts to pick them up. It's so pretty and green.

We had to split our area book in half so I no longer get to teach Cici, but she's in good hands. We asked her to help us make a FB video and I literally died bc she did SUCH A GOOD JOB. It's kinda low-tech but everything she said was perfect. She is so cute and she calls scriptures, prescriptions. We edited it out but she says "read the prescriptions" and I love it so much! (I hope the link works coz u need to watch this rn!)

Update on Lucas our friend we found on FB: we taught him the restoration and he is excited to read the BOM! He gets so happy every time we teach him and he always tells us how much it has been helping him because he was really lonely and sad.

Helena was a referral from a member here and we finally got to talk to her. She is so cute and has lived in Brasil, California, Utah and Rhode Island! She is also excited to meet with us more next week.

Our 4th of July was pretty uneventful but we got to watch fireworks on the sunroof of our apartment building and it was pretty sick.

I wanted to share a few scriptures I liked reading this week:

1 Nephi 17:41 talks about Moses and when his people got bit by serpents that the Lord sent.

"He sent fiery flying serpents among them; and after they were bitten he prepared a way that they might be healed; and the labor which they had to perform was to look; and because of the simpleness of the way, or the easiness of it, there were many who perished"

(Sometimes we make things super complicated for ourselves when we KNOW that all we need to do is have Faith in God, keep the commandments, and repent daily. These are simple things that can literally save us but we like to pretend like we don't know how to help ourselves or get help from God bc sometimes it seems easier)

2 Cor 4:8-9,17

8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

(I think we are all feeling like this bc of the current situation but it's so important to remember that to God this is a "light affliction" and it's changing us to have better perspective and patience)

Grateful: members that help us with lessons, Sis. K, FIREWORKS!, America, my MOM- happy birthday!! ♡ "she's a queen and a slayer"

Tchau!
Hope everyone had a good 4th of July and went swimming bc I couldn't.  Hah
