9.21.20: Pawtucket --> ♡ford, CT

 I got transferred! I am going to Hartford, Connecticut. I have been in Rhode Island this whole time so it will be interesting to see something new! I am sad to leave @Sister Kent, Russon and Sorge. RIP colegas.

Our friend Helder hasn't talked with us for about 2 weeks bc he has some crazy things going on in his life and the other day I decided to text him and then he said we could call him right then, so we did. We were able to help him feel better and he decided he is going to keep talking to us again, which made me so happy!

This week we got to help this family who owns a library/skatepark. They have a ton of donated books, so they have kids come and read for an hour and then they get to skate for an hour. We mopped all the skate ramps bc it's indoor and then dusted all the bookshelves. They are so Cool!

I have officially cut everyone's hair who lives in my apartment! I have no idea why they trust me to do that, but I guess I'm saying that if anyone ever needs a free mediocre haircut, i'm your girl.

On Monday we went to a really cool beach called Fogland. It had a ton of jellyfish washed up so we spent like an hour picking up half dead jellies and putting them back in the water. i found this swing set on the sand and I jumped off the swing and landed in a thorn bush thing. I had like 20 goatheads (huge thorns) in both of my feet. My comps took them all out of my feet but they were literally bleeding afterwards bc the thorns were so huge.

Our mission does a weekly FB live devotional called "Walk in the light" and Brad Wilcox spoke last week. Some really cool things he said:

"Look up and find your validation"

"Don't be afraid of being at odds with the world, Christ's church is not popular"

"A God who is asking nothing of you, is making nothing of you"

^this is a really good talk about making choices, it's called "Knowing when to persevere and when to change directions"

Grateful: the sun making it not feel too cold (: , pretty trees changing colors, laughing, teaching people in person at the chapel, our new branch President, all the people I met in Rhode Island!

Tchau,

Sister Barton
