6.29.20: Pawtucket Party
^we are getting two more sisters here! I am going to be companions with one and my sister Lawlor will be w/the other one!
Last p-day we got to go to Trader Joes and it made me so happy.
What didn't make me happy was that my companion saw a mouse in our apartment. );
We are still just working hard in quarantine and calling a ton of members and friends. We had the law of chastity lesson with Cici bc she just has to get married to be baptized. It was my first time ever teaching it in English and it is so much better in a different language bc you don't actually realize what you're saying. Hah, that's always a funny one.
We are teaching a member's daughter named Any and we invited the branch president's wife (kelly) to help us with the lesson. It was a really good lesson and Any loved Irmã Kelly.
Another friend we started teaching yesterday is named Lucas! We posted in a local FB group about free bible study and he "liked it" so we reached out to him. We found out he moved here from Brasil 7 months ago and he is super lonely. We had a really good lesson with him and he is super excited to keep learning!!!
We had Zone conference this week and some quotes i liked from it were:
"keep swimming, keep working, that's the only option" -sister mavromatis (mission pres wife)
"It's not time to think about us, it's time to think about the Lord" -sis m
There's a recent convert named David that is super funny. We have been talking to him about family history so he can get ready to go to the temple! This week he said something super funny.
David: "ppl from AZ and people from CA who surf always have a really good physique" (I think he's onto something)
Hah *he's never even seen us in person
Another funny thing that happened this week:
Us: *hands homeless man dried mangoes and Oreos
Him: do you have money?
Us : no sorry
Him: do you wanna hang out?
Us: uh sorry we gotta go
Him: offers us cig
Us: *runs across street, byeeeee

This week I wanted to talk about consistency. I feel like in the gospel, being consistent is the most important thing we can do for ourselves and our conversion. Consistent people are the type of people that we know we can trust. A quote I like from a conference talk, I think "The Lord loves effort" (pres Nelson?). I would add, consistent effort! Another good quote that goes along with this: "we did not come this far to only come this far". So let's keep going. Hope everyone has a good week!
Grateful: trader joes, learning everyday, clean houses, air conditioning, Cici!!!, conference talks, being a missionary.
