2.10.20: "I think I´m gonna need more space"
^^famous last words of the SLT(Sister leader person).
So we had splits this week and I stayed here in Ubatuba and another sister came to spend the day with me. In the large land of Ubatuba you have to (get to) use bikes to go to the lunches bc otherwise it would waste a lot of time walking there. This sister was telling me how it had been "awhile" since she'd ridden a bike but she thought it would be fine. Long story short, when we were going out of the gate of our apt I got on my bike and l looked at her and she said "I think I'm gonna need more space". (cars go in and out of this gate btw). anyways it was a very very slow ride to lunch and had a whole lot of stopping and whole lot of people glaring at me for all of the confusion that woman caused in the bike lane, ( i think I prefer taking the 13, 10 and 7 year old to church). haha. also i found out it had been 10 years since she had ridden a bike, a long while.
Isabel went to church!!!! She is so amazing! Today is her birthday and we asked her if we could have a family night at her house. She said yes so hopefully that turns out good. Also shout out to Meredith, bc now your cookies are famous in Brazil too!!!
The other day we went to this lady's house and she came to the door and told us that she had looked on the church website and searched a ton about the church and she just can't accept that there would be another book other than the bible. My companion and I tried so hard to explain to her but she just wouldn't accept it. Sometimes we try really hard to convince people, but if their eyes are closed there is just nothing we can do. My companion started crying afterwards and I felt really sad too that someone could attack something that I love so much. I told her that we are representing Jesus Christ and we have to be rejected to understand how he felt. I am so grateful for the Book of Mormon and the simple truths that we have.
Another miracle happened this week! We found a lady named Marislaine that had been taught by the missionaries in a diff city a long time ago. She told us that she could never stop thinking about eternal marriage and that she really wanted that for her and her family. We were so happy to have found her bc my companion randomly chose to knock on her door and she basically knows everything about the church. She just has a little bit of fear of getting baptized.
anyways, #prayforisabel
