1.6.20: 47 cats + Drugged Brasilians

^^ not all in the same place
We taught a lesson to this lady named Malu. When we walked into her house she said "oh yeah so I have lots of cats. 47 actually."  It took all of my will power to not turn around and run away. You can only imagine the smell in her house.

Another random thing that happened this week. We went to teach this less-active member's mom but her son came to the door (he's like 30 yrs old or something). He started saying a bunch of stuff about how his mom was giving attention to him right then and she couldn't talk to us. Then he started telling us that his suitcase was packed and he was about to leave the house. Then he told me "I have already smoked weed, I have already gone to jail, I have already been accused of murder that I did NOT commit, and I have already been in the drug traffic....do you think I should be treated differently than other people?"
Me: YEAH definitely.
*oops he wanted me to say no
um actually no you're right, we are equally important to God and we need to respect everyone.
hahaha, I thought he meant treated differently like in the hospital or something but he meant in life. haha I like to think that it was bc of the language that I didn't understand but maybe it was just my ignorance.

Happy 2020! I got to see a ton of fireworks bc my companion set an alarm and I went out on the balcony to watch. It was so pretty.

16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the apalms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

I love this scripture. it's from 1 Nephi 21. It is so incredible that Jesus was resurrected but the marks in his hands and feet stayed so that we can all remember how much he loves us and that he wants us to know that too! I am so grateful that I get to be a missionary and help others come unto Christ and live the true gospel. I was looking in the topical guide at the word Joy and the word that it says "see also" is obedience. When we obey and live righteously and focus our life on Jesus Christ we can experience true joy.
