12.2.19: BYU Ohio

"I want to go to BYU Ohio" (a girl in the branch here)

"Um I REALLY don't think that exists, maybe Hawaii or are you thinking of Idaho?" (me)   hahaha everyone here wants to go to BYU but apparently they think that it's in whatever state they want. Maybe BYU California exists..if it does, sign me up mom.

"julgar menos, ajudar mais" "judge less, help more" (President of the Branch)

"Much more than ice cream, a nutritional food!" there's an ice cream store with this written in huge letters on the sign. so good, Brasil.

This week was the last week of the transfer and my companion sister Alexandre was transferred but I am going to stay in Ubatuba. I still don't know who my companion is because she will only get here tomorrow. I am going to be in Ubatuba for Christmas which will be super good.

when we received the transfer it was 10 pm and my companion had to pack her suitcases and we took a bus at 6:30 am on Sunday. it was really sad bc we couldn't go to church in our branch but one of our investigators went to church and I'm pretty sure he is going to get baptized on Saturday! I have no idea if anyone else went and it was super weird to spend all of Sunday on a bus.

This week I finally got the conference talks of the last general conference bc nothing gets to ubatuba or to missionaries in general very fast. But everyone needs to read or re-read the talk that President Nelson gave in the women's session! (i didn't get to watch it when it happened in real time) It is called "spiritual treasures".

14 But I do not joy in my own asuccess alone, but my joy is more full because of the success of my brethren, who have been up to the land of Nephi.

I love this scripture because a lot of the time we just compare ourselves with other people, but our life would be way happier if we are able to have joy in the success of others. Comparison truly is the thief of joy. I read a talk about how an important part of ministering is sharing joy with people and not just helping people through difficulties but congratulating and acknowledging their joys and successes.
