Victor called us last week and told us that he needed to confess a sin to us...we were kind of scared for a second but he told us that he bought 6 happy meals at mcdonald´s and then he remembered it was Sunday and he felt super bad. He gave them all to homeless people so he figured that it was probably fine bc it was a good deed. Also he assured us that he doesn´t even like mcdonald´s and he doesn´t even know why he wanted it but he just wanted to make sure he was all good and hadn't done anything too bad. Hahaha.
The other night we were walking and we contacted this guy on the street we live on. He asked us where we were from (that never happens, ever) and my companion told him (Brazil) and then I said California, and he said "Oh, I was just in Santa Cruz for 2 months" (I literally only said CA i swear) and I almost threw up bc I realized that we are in Brazil, but he is literally our neighbor and he was in Santa Cruz for TWO MONTHS.
A few weeks ago, this guy randomly showed up at church without us or anyone inviting him which we were super stoked about. We only taught him one time after that because he works a lot and it never lined up again. He ended up going to another city for a month bc of work. Anyways, today he called us and he literally said "What do I need to do to get baptized" It is not everyday that that happens but we´ll take it. Hopefully his work decides that he can move back soon bc this is almost too good to be true. We´ll see.
President Nelson is in Brazil right now and he spoke to the missionaries on Friday which was super cool! (It was a broadcast from Brasilia. Not in person.) He also spoke to all of the members on Sunday. So I got to listen to him speak twice this week and it was translated from him speaking English to a translator during the talks (like a live translator I guess). It was really nice to listen to it in English. He talked about 3 Nephi 11-30 and how we are the only religion that knows about what the Savior did after he was resurrected and we need to pay attention to these chapters bc they are the most important things that the Savior felt he needed to teach the people when he appeared to them. It was super awesome. I have a ton more notes that i will share more of next week!
