8.12.19: Neiman Marcus and Praying for Miracles

So this week my companion decided to put a face mask on me bc she is really concerned that I don´t use make up and we had zone conference so she really needed me to try a little. Clearly i wasn´t going to, so she personally put a face mask on me and then we did a little workout and i took it off and my face was all splotchy and red and puffy. SO, we said a prayer bc what else do you do. luckily god loves me and my face looked as normal as it can for zone conference. 

My companion had to give a training and I had to help her which was embarrassing bc I sound like a child trying to speak portuguese. But zone conference was good and then my mission president just talked in my interview with him about how he doesn´t like the food here and we had a little heart to heart. haha he is so funny. 

He is super chique. (everyone uses that word here). He interviewed this awesome investigator named Victor and he is getting baptized! Anyways, he literally gave the tie off his neck to Victor and it was a Neiman Marcus tie. CHIQUE. Then we went to the bishops house to tell him about the baptism and the bishop gave him a white shirt so he is pronto {ready}!! Victor's already wanting to serve a mission which is incredible! 

The other things i randomly prayed for this week was for a dog to stop licking my feet during this lesson, and for the shower water to be hot one day that it rained. Prayer works people. 

Today was p day and I got to see the ocean which made my week. We had a picnic and it  was glorious. I finally sent pictures. Me and my oil.

11.11.19: Uba-Chuva

^^It has been raining for like 5 days straight  {Apparently "Chuva" means rain in Portuguese. Thank you, Google!} this week in bad english clothing: a ladies t-shirt "CALL MY AGENT" (so random). Also, "I did not mean to offend you that was just a bonus"  There's a missionary couple here in our area that lives in the same apartment building as us. We don't have a water filter in our apt so we go there a few times a week to fill up water. They are super funny and the husband is really oblivious and the wife just orders him around and I die every time I see them. She was trying to tell us a story and her husband started talking and she shushed him for like 20 seconds straight " shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hh, let me tell the story, Elder."  And my comp and I could not keep it together. They were so confused why were laughing.  We asked him to install a fire alarm for us a few days ago and they came to our apt to do it ...

11.2.20: The "Lasts" Begin

  My last zone conf was underwhelming and over zoom, am I surprised at this point?  Some gold quotes from it:  "Pull your chair up to the lord's table and pull a chair up for a friend too" prez mav "It feels so good to do the right things for the right reasons"  We went back to the farm w/Bobby. Sis Simp and I pretty much carried pallets to a dumpster and then chucked them into the dumpster. It was a good time.  Our ward had a drive thru Halloween party and our friend Keity came with her 3 kids! It was fun to see all the ward members and me and my comps dressed up as the wizard of oz. I was the lion and Simp was Dorothy. Pretty legit for a missionary costume I guess.  We finally talked to Debbie! (The neighbor whose mail we got). It was #worththewait bc she is going through some rough stuff and really liked talking to us! We are hopefully meeting again on Wednesday!  I shared my departing testimony at our mission fast Sunday devotional which felt weird...

9.21.20: Pawtucket --> ♡ford, CT

  I got transferred! I am going to Hartford, Connecticut. I have been in Rhode Island this whole time so it will be interesting to see something new! I am sad to leave @Sister Kent, Russon and Sorge. RIP colegas.  Our friend Helder hasn't talked with us for about 2 weeks bc he has some crazy things going on in his life and the other day I decided to text him and then he said we could call him right then, so we did. We were able to help him feel better and he decided he is going to keep talking to us again, which made me so happy!  This week we got to help this family who owns a library/skatepark. They have a ton of donated books, so they have kids come and read for an hour and then they get to skate for an hour. We mopped all the skate ramps bc it's indoor and then dusted all the bookshelves. They are so Cool!  I have officially cut everyone's hair who lives in my apartment! I have no idea why they trust me to do that, but I guess I'm saying that if anyone ever needs...
