7.23.19: pink nail polish, open-toed shoes, Amy Winehouse and persimmons

^a bunch of random stuff that highlighted my week. you aren´t supposed to have your nails painted any bright colors and you aren't supposed to wear open toed shoes but this week both of those things brought me a lot of alegria (joy). also a few weeks ago they had persimmons and i could NOT think of the word for them and I FINALLY DID TWO NIGHTS AGO. finally,  i heard the song valerie by amy winehouse when i was studying outside and then the people blasting their music continued to play a ton of beatles songs and i have never seen a happier group of missionaries studying outside in my life.

also, this is hilarious. we have to learn phrases to say about each lesson and we practice them in competitions during class to make it "fun."
so we were learning the law of chastity phrases and imagine random white people learning your language and who can say "a lei da castidade significa abster-se de relaçoes sexuaís antes de casamento" as fast and loud as they can. I'm sure you can guess or google translate that memorized phrase. {Amy here, with a rough translation for you: "The law of chastity means that you refrain from sexual relations before marriage."  You're welcome??! ;) } it was hilarious bc people kept messing up on the pronounciation and my teacher just kept saying it slower and slower over and over and everyone was repeating it and i could not handle it.

well anyways, i guess i should share a spiritual thought to balance that out.

"todas as coisas boas vêm por causa Dele" ALL GOOD THINGS COME BECAUSE OF GOD!!
that is the truest thing i´ve ever heard! i love that so much, and i know that it is so important to remember that every good thing we have in life we owe to God! God is so good to us!
also in a devotional this guy said "personal conversion is a conscious decision" i think that is so cool to think of our conversion that way because really if we make the choice to be converted then we will be! i want to challenge everyone to think about their own conversion process and consciously decide where they are and where they want to be, and then figure out what they can do to get there. (that just proved im actually a missionaria  bc i invited you). k i guess my job is done
tchau tchau

ps (next time i email i will NOT be here at the CTM) not mad about that
