7.2.19: CTM and stuff

Hello All~
Here is Liza's first group email from Brazil!  And it is SO her!  I'm just going to be sending it just like it is.  For example, she hardly ever writes out what isn't absolutely necessary (bc= because), and you'll also notice that she hardly capitalizes anything or adds punctuation at the end of a sentence.  I've decided that for Liza's mission emails, I'm just sending them exactly as she writes them.  And I def can't translate the Portuguese any better than Google translate can, so I'll leave that up to you, mostly.

Now, onto the main event!  Liza, unedited by me.  Enjoy!
She makes me happy. Hope she makes you happy too.

Love,

Amy/Liza's mamae ;)

Oi!

Apparently I am in Brazil, but really I am just in a big building with a bunch of other missionaries and a lot of feelings. We get to go to the temple every p day and it is so nice to leave the CTM and it is super nice to go to the temple and feel the peace there. I sat by this HILARIOUS brazillian lady and it was actually in english so she had a translator and she could not handle how to use it so she kept yelling in portuguese but my friend and i were helping her and then she would yell OBRIGADA after everything we did. she was a GEM.
A general authority came and spoke to us in portuguese and i actually understoofd him bc he spoke like an american would speak portugues aka SLOW. he talked about the law of sacrifice and how it is a privilege to sacrifice and jesus had sacrificed his entire life for us, so we should be grateful for any opportunity we have to sacrifice a tiny bit for him. it was a really good devotional and basically i felt bad after that for EVER complaining at all.

on p day we got açai and now i actually know why the ç is like that so i feel pretty legit about that. it was so good and wayyy cheaper than the US.

so the entire bottom of my feet literally peeled off bc the bottom was so tough from walking barefoot everywhere. it was the grossest thing everrrrrrrrrrrrrr

shoutout to maddy for hiding the little little little in my suitcase bc i found it when i decided to wear my rainboots one day at 6;30 in the morning and it was a good reminder to be happy when i wake up bc i am not
^i had to wear rainboots bc you arent allowed to wear open toed shoes in the CTM so i have been wearing rainboots or the same exact mint green shoes every single day. its pretty funny

when we got here they were all excited bc we are the first group to be called irma but they changed it back to sister after one week so idk about that but i am no longer an irma so RIP @ that

we got moved to a new branch and apparently we are the oldest district in it. an entire two weeks so i had to give a talk w 5 minutes notice and my companion and i had to teach the RS lesson. luckily my talk was allowed to be in English so super easy no prob at all or something

we had splits with Portuguese sisters which was really cool except that we taught our fake lesson and it was like 90/10 because i can barely say anything but i am pretty good at understanding whats going on and she entirely re said everything that i said which kind of made me sad because apparently i am just not gonna cut it for her but at least i could understand that she re said it so that's a WIN.

my favorite words are actividade fisica and açai so pray for more of thatttttt

WELLL sorry for all the random crêpes but eu amo vocês (I love you all)

tchau tchau
